Who We Are

Picture
Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association®   (CVMA® ) is a non-profit association with a 501(c)(3) tax exempt status (Federal Tax I.D #82-38-3859595). Our membership is comprised of Full Members (those with verified combat service), Auxiliary Members (spouses of the Combat Veteran), and Supporter Members (those who have non-combat military service and have strong dedication to helping veterans).  Our Full Members are Combat Veterans from all branches of the United States Armed Forces and from nearly all 50 states and abroad. Many members continue to serve in our Armed Forces, with several serving in combat areas now.
CVMA
®  FL 20-13 "The Biker Coast" is your local chapter located in Volusia County, Florida.  Our mission is to support and defend those who have defended our country and our freedoms. Our focus is to help the Veterans and Veteran care facilities, provide a warm meal, clothing, shelter, and guidance, or simply to say Thank You and Welcome Home.  We do this by sponsoring and/or participating in numerous motorcycle-related charity events each year, and as a non-profit organization, donate to various Veterans, Veteran Care facilities and Veteran Charities. Our motto is Veterans Helping Veterans (VETS HELPING VETS).
We are a family-friendly, non-territorial association without affiliation to any club.  We provide Combat Veterans who ride motorcycles as a hobby a place to come together to continue the brotherhood shared during military service and to help heal the invisible wounds that often result from combat.

There are over 70,000 Veterans in Volusia County alone, number of them are in need of help. If you would like to offer your assistance or the services of your organization for the purposes of helping Local Florida Veterans please contact us  to discuss how you can get started.  We gratefully accept donations of goods or services.  You may also make a tax deductible contribution at any time.

                                               Our Patch

Picture
The emblem/logo of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association®  is in the shape of a skull. The incorporated colors are:
Red: represents the blood that has been shed on the battlefield.
Military Gold: represents all branches of the military service of the United States.
Black: represents the heavy hearts possessed for those who gave their lives and for those that are considered missing in action or prisoners of war.
The Skull and Ace of Spade:  represents the death that war leaves in its wake.

What does it mean to see a person wearing this patch? All of our Full Members are U.S. Armed Forces Combat Veterans. This means that each and every person wearing the patch – as pictured above – served abroad during wartime in a Combat Zone declared by Presidential Executive Order. Many members served in Vietnam, The Gulf War, Iraq and Afghanistan (to name a few).
There are other membership types including Support Members – those who have honorable non-combat military service; and Auxiliary Members – a spouse, widow or widower of Full or Support Members.

What proof do I have to show to be eligible to join as a Full Member?
You MUST have a DD 214 showing your combat service or verifiable, official documentation showing a combat award.
What if I don’t have a DD-214 or mine is inaccurate?
You can request a current copy of your service records at the National Archives website HERE.
In order to join the Combat Vets Motorcycle Association as a FULL MEMBER you MUST be able to PROVE your combat service (download application above).

Do I have to own a motorcycle?
Yes! You MUST own a motorcycle, 500 cc’s or larger and have a valid registration and insurance in YOUR name. It doesn’t matter if it’s a Honda, Yamaha or Harley Davidson. Just a motorcycle; we’re not picky but it’s helpful to have fuel range of over 100 miles and should be able to ride at least 70 MPH for a sustained period of time on the freeway. Your bike should also be mechanically sound.
If I’m a veteran but have never been to a combat zone, am I eligible to join?
In certain cases you MAY be able to join the CVMA®  as a Support Member. Each chapter may have up to one Support Member for every ten Full Members. We welcome all vets to come ride with us whether you’re a member or not.
Support members are required to submit their application with proof of military service through a CVMA
® Full Member SPONSOR who has held a membership for not less than one year. Support members are required to have either ridden a minimum of 3,000 miles with their sponsor, attended three CVMA® events or be known by their sponsor for a minimum of 6 months. A full member submitting an application for a support member should verify they meet the above criteria. Only 1 support member can be vouched on per year by an individual CVMA® member.
What are the qualifications for an Auxiliary Member?
An Auxiliary Member MUST be the current spouse of a Full Member. You’ll need to submit an application (download application above) and submit it along with a marriage certificate and the applicable payment for dues.
Can my girlfriend become an Auxiliary Member?
No
What are the three levels of Membership?
Full Member. Support Member and Auxiliary Member.
How can I get a Membership Application?
In order to join our chapter, applicants can download and complete the application above. Along with your application, you must provide a valid copy of your DD 214 (showing your combat service or award) and a MONEY ORDER made out to “CVMA® 20-13” for your membership dues. Applicants MUST also affirm that they have read “CVMA Protocol” as a condition of your membership. Spouses may also apply for membership in the CVMA® Auxiliary.
Q: When is your next Chapter Meeting?
A: Currently, we hold a monthly general membership meeting on the first Saturday of every month.  This meeting is open to anyone or any organization that is interested in helping us with our mission.  Check our Contact section under the Home tab for more Information.
Are you an MC?
We are NOT an MC. We are a Motorcycle Association. We are neutral and claim no territory and no allegiance to any club. We have no probates or hang-around’s.
How long will it take for my application to be processed?
Application processing by our National organization times vary but typically within 30 days.
When can I get my patch?

How much are the annual dues?
Annual Dues for a Full Member are $20, while Support Members and Auxiliary Members are $10. Patch costs are NOT included and must be purchased separately once you receive a membership number and signed a Patch Agreement.
